Recipe: Sausage Tartlets
2 squares of frozen puff pastry
2 sausages, cut into bite sized pieces, or you can use köfte
1 tomato, halved and then each half halved again, to give you 8 pieces
1/4 onion, peeled and finely sliced
6 sage leaves
salt and pepper
Mustard Mayonnaise -
2 parts mayonnaise
1 part whole grain mustard
Heat the oven to 200c.
Place the puff pastry squares on a sheet of baking paper on a baking tray to defrost.
Once defrosted score a line all around the square about 1/4 inch, 1/2 cm in from the edge.
Place the finely slice onion in side the scored line, followed by the sausage or köfte pieces and then the tomato.
Tuck 3 sage leaves into each of the tartlets.
Season with salt and pepper and a drizzle some olive oil over each.
Bake in the oven for around30 minutes until the sausage, köfte is cooked and the tomato is roasted.
If you have used dried sage leaves, you may want to remove them before serving.
Mix the 2 parts mayonnaise to 1 parts whole grain mustard together until well mixed.
Serve with boiled potatoes and seasonal vegetables.
