Recipe: Plum Crumble
500g plums (I used ripe erics), cut in half, remove stone and then cut into quarters
200g plain flour
100g butter or margarine
2 tbsps sugar
2 tbsps brown sugar (optional)
Place the stoned and cut plums in the bottom of an oven proof dish, the one I use measures 21 cm by 21 cm.
Sprinkle 2 tbsps sugar over the plums.
In a large bowl, rub the butter into the flour and then mix in the 100g sugar.
Spread evenly over the plums.
Sprinkle the brown sugar over the completed crumble.
Bake in the oven at 200c for around 40 mins or until the top is brown and the fruit juices are bubbling.
Serve with custard, cream or ice cream.
